Intergovernmental agencies and civil society organizations involved in combating corruption and strengthening governance systems have convened in Kariba to prepare the Sadc Anti-Corruption Report.

The meeting will also produce the Sadc Regional Anti-Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Framework Report, which tracks the progress of Member States in fighting corruption and evaluates the effectiveness of their interventions.
The framework includes 17 key indicators monitored across the region for the past three years, with Zimbabwe participating in the exercise for the second consecutive year.
Regional Heads of State and Government adopted the Sadc Protocol Against Corruption in July 2005, which paved the way for the establishment of the Sadc Anti-Corruption Committee (SACC).
Sacc is tasked with implementing the Sadc Strategic Anti-Corruption Plan (2023–2027).
This meeting has brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc), Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Public Service Commission (PSC), Judicial Services Commission (JSC), and the
Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra).
Also in attendance are officials from the Office of the Attorney General, Financial Intelligence Unit, and Asset Management Unit, alongside civil society organizations such as Transparency International Zimbabwe (TIZ), Legal Resources Foundation, Accountability Lab, Zimbabwe Women Against Corruption Trust (ZWACT), and the Zimbabwe
Coalition on Debt and Development (ZIMCODD).
This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of Sadc Member States to addressing corruption and fostering good governance in the region.
