THE Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services has warned members of the public to be aware of recruitment scams by con artists.

In a statement, ZPCS National Public Relations Officer Assistant Commissioner Meya Khanyezi said unscrupulous individuals, posing as representatives of the ZPCS, have been attempting to deceive aspiring candidates.

“ZPCS the recruitment process is conducted solely through official channels,” said Asst Comm Khanyezi.

She said members of the public should note four important points about the ZPCS recruitment process:

“1. Official Communication: The Zimbabwe Prisons and

Correctional Service communicates official information through recognised channels only. The official Facebook account of the ZPCS is “Zimbabwe

Prisons and Correctional Service.”

“2. Verified Social Media Handle: The official Twitter handle of the ZPCS is “@ZPCS_PR.” Please ensure that you follow this verified account for accurate and up-to-date information.

“3. Contact Information: The ZPCS can be reached through their official telephone number: (024) 762724. If you have any doubts or concerns regarding the recruitment process, please contact this number for clarification.

“4. Payment Requests: The ZPCS does not require any payment for the recruitment process. Any request for money transfer or deposit into a bank account is fraudulent. Please do not fall victim to such scams,” said Asst Comm Khanyeza.

She urged potential recruits to exercise caution and avoid providing personal information or making any financial transactions to individuals or accounts claiming to represent the ZPCS.

“The ZPCS recruitment process is transparent and free of charge.”

“If you encounter any suspicious activity or receive any fraudulent communication related to the ZPCS recruitment, please report it immediately to the nearest police station or contact the ZPCS through the official channels mentioned above,” said Asst Comm Khanyezi.

The ZPCS, she said, will prosecute anyone found defrauding people in the name of the organisation.
