Zimbabwe is showing strong support for Lyshanda Moyas, who is representing the country at the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand.
The competition started with the girls touring parts of Thailand.
They are expected to participate in the swimsuit fashion show in Pattaya today, ahead of the preliminary and national costume competitions that are scheduled for November 19 in Bangkok.
Meanwhile, the Miss Universe 2025 voting is open, thereby allowing people from across the world to vote for their favourite contestant to help her advance in the competition.
This has seen Zimbabweans back home and abroad voting for Lyshanda.
Currently, Lyshanda has more than 46 000 votes.
The votes will help Lyshanda secure a place not only in the semi-finals, but also contribute to People’s Choice (Fan votes).
Fan votes are used by Miss Universe to support contestants who show strong international backing.
Several well-known local celebrities have joined the campaign.
Social media star Hatiperi has been reminding people daily to vote and to share the voting link.
Madam Boss, one of the country’s biggest online personalities, has also used her platforms to encourage fans to vote for Lyshanda.
Businesswoman and philanthropist Zodwa “Zozo” Mkandla has made one of the biggest contributions so far after she cast 4 000 votes for Lyshanda. Her action inspired many Zimbabweans to start voting in large numbers, with her message spreading widely on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.
As a result, Zimbabwe has been performing well in the voting stages. Many fans say this is one of the strongest responses the country has shown in recent years during an international pageant.

Open the app and go to the Fan Vote section.
Search for Lyshanda Moyas – Zimbabwe.
Cast your free daily votes. More votes can be purchased if fans wish to contribute further.
On the app, packages often start from about US$1 for a few votes, with larger bundles costing more. Fans can choose any amount, depending on how much they want to support.
However, if one watches an ad on the Miss Universe App, they get a free vote.
Many Zimbabweans have already shared screenshots of their votes to motivate others.
Supporters say every vote matters because it helps Lyshanda advance and increases the country’s visibility on the world stage.
