Zimbabwe School of Infantry holds combined graduation parade for 394 officers

The Zimbabwe School of Infantry today celebrated the combined graduation parade for 394 officers from various security services, officiated by Chief of Staff Major General Emmanuel Matatu.
The ceremony emphasises the ongoing commitment to training and professional development within the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA), Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ), Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS), and the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).
Out of the total graduates, the majority—277 officers—are from the ZNA, while the ZPCS contributed 11 officers, and the AFZ and ZRP had three and five graduates, respectively.
The event commenced with welcoming remarks from Colonel Nuna Bonaventure Ncube, the commander of the Zimbabwe School of Infantry, who introduced the guest of honour.

In his keynote address, Major General Matatu highlighted the critical importance of discipline and dedication to service, urging the graduates to prioritise their duties to the nation. He stressed that security responsibilities require the utmost discipline, saying, “The ZNA has no room for drug abuse,” reinforcing the need for integrity within the forces.

The Chief of Staff also acknowledged the vital support of the graduates’ families, thanking their partners for maintaining stability while they pursued their training.
He concluded his speech with a call for all officers and guests to adhere to traffic regulations and avoid driving under the influence during the festive season, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
During the ceremony, Major Julius Ncube handed over the pace stick and ceremonial dress, signifying the transition of leadership within the school.
Major General Matatu noted that, while the majority successfully completed the course, three students did not graduate—one due to indiscipline and two due to health issues.
The graduation parade not only marks a significant achievement for the officers but also strengthens the overall operational readiness of Zimbabwe’s security forces in addressing national and regional challenges
