Zimbabwe School of Mines warn Archers

THE Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Darts League log anchors Zimbabwe School of Mines yesterday threatened to beat run away log leaders Archers when the two meet this evening. In the event of the miners succeeding, it will be Archers’ first defeat of the season. The Zimbabwe School of Mines will be at home and their captain Cephas Rubaya said it will be a “David and Goliath” affair.

Archers  seem unstoppable having gone for 24 games without losing a match and enjoy a three-point lead over second placed Railstars who are on 21 points after 23 matches while their opponents Zimbabwe School of Mines only have two points from 24 games.
Rubaya said they were ready for the championship favourites.

“We have prepared hard for the game against Archers and I think the amount of work that the guys have put in during training will start paying soon. We are looking forward to beating Archers. We have a number of guys who have been playing well but it’s unfortunate that Lady Luck has eluded us but they are going to give Archers a good run for their money.

“If they come here thinking that by being at the bottom of the log they will have an easy walk, then they must think again,” said Rubaya.
Zimbabwe School of Mines will have to summon all that they have for tonight’s encounter as it looks like they have a huge mountain to climb. In their last match, Zimbabwe School of Mines lost 12-27 to seventh placed Wise Waters.

Some of the players expected to be part of the Zimbabwe School of Mines’ line up are  Lovemore Bhebhe, Alfred Thodlana, Albert Munyaradzi, Rubaya and Brown Sigiya.

Archers skipper Ernest Maphepha Sibanda said his charges were also looking forward to the game and ruled out complacency.
“At this stage we cannot afford to relax. The guys have been training hard and everyone is raring to go. We respect the Zimbabwe School of Mines despite the fact that they are at the bottom of the table but we cannot underrate them. Look at what happened to Bulawayo Chiefs in the Zifa Southern region Division One where they lost 1-0 to lowly ranked Bulawayo Jumbos,” said Sibanda.

Archers go into tonight’s game bubbling with confidence following their 30-9 win over Highlanders.
Brian Ndlovu, Nkululeko Ncube, youngster Tafadzwa Mtomba and Albert Tawanda are expected to lead Archers tonight.
