Zimbabwe set to launch indigenous data analytics system

The Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science, and Technology Development is officially launching the DuraIsiphala263, Zimbabwe`s first indigenous data analytics system for higher and tertiary education.

Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science, and Technology Development Minister, Dr Frederick Shava, will officiate at the launch at the University of Zimbabwe today.

DuraIsiphala263 provides real-time dashboards, comprehensive analytics, and harmonised reporting tools.

In a statement, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation Science and Technology Development, Professor Fanuel Tagwira said Zimbabwe has distinguished itself by developing technological solutions through local expertise, which highlights the effectiveness of the Education 5.0 model.

“The development and implementation of DuraIsiphala263 has been made possible by the visionary leadership of President Mnangagwa. He is prioritising science, technology and innovation, thereby creating an environment where we get Zimbabwean solutions for Zimbabwean and global challenges.

“Through His Excellency’s unwavering support for Education 5.0, Zimbabwe is now seeing home-grown innovations such as DuraIsiphala263,” he said.

“The system was piloted and refined through collaborative training. A thriving community of practice has been established, and over 167 technical users are now actively participating in the continuous improvement and utilization of the system.”

Prof Tagwira said the system will significantly improve planning, monitoring and evaluation processes.
