Traffic Safety Council launches road safety campaign

The Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe is launching the Easter and Independence Road Safety Campaign in Glendale along the Harare-Bindura Road today.

Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona, Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Kazembe Kazembe, his deputy Chido Sanyatwe, Minister of State for Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs and Devolution Christopher Magomo, senior Government and police officials are attending the event.

Statistics from last year show that 27 people were killed while 159 were injured in 286 road traffic accidents recorded over the Easter holiday.

On Independence Day alone, nine fatalities and 25 injuries were reported from 100 recorded accidents.
