Zimbabwe to host conference for workers’ committees

The conference is scheduled to run from May 19 to May 20 under the theme “Synchronising Collective Bargaining Functions to Overall Company Productivity Targets and Outcomes”.
Mr John Parson will be the keynote speaker at the conference. He is an expert and chief facilitator for the Asian Productivity Organisation in the field of productivity, performance measurement and organisational change.
Prior to becoming the principal of Resource Alternatives Australia, he was the chief executive of Resource Alternatives Botswana and director of HRMC Botswana. From 1994 to 1997 he was the deputy director of the National Productivity Institute South Africa.
Mr Parson has contributed to and edited three books. In 2003 he edited a book entitled Productivity Measures at Sectoral and Enterprise Level – An Integrated Perspective, Asian Productivity Organisation, Tokyo, and in 2001 he edited a book called Productivity Measure- ment in Inter-Firm Comparisons – A New Approach and Asian Productivity Organisation, Tokyo.
Then in 1980 he contributed again on profitability in Inter-Firm Comparisons, A New Approach in Productivity Measurement, An International Review of Concepts, Techniques, Programmes and Current Issues and Grower for the British Council of Productivity Associations.
Other speakers expected at the conference, Deputy Director in the Labour Relations Ministry of Labour Mr P. Mafuratidze, Professor Tony Hawkins (economist) Dr Godfrey Kanyenze, director (Labour and Economic Development Research Institute of Zimbabwe) and Mr. Isaac Mazanhi, a human resources practitioner and IPMZ and Emcoz active member.
