Zimbabwean Open final moved

Zimbabwe Volleyball Association first vice-president Enzanai Madzivire confirmed this yesterday.
“The final was supposed to be in Bulawayo this weekend but it has been moved to Gweru which is central,” he said.

Madzivire said the Midlands Volleyball Association will decide the venue but he said indications were that it could either be Raylton or Midlands State University (MSU).
Gweru’s MSU and Harare side Hawks will battle first in the semi-final after they failed to play two weeks ago due to poor time management.

MSU got into the semi-finals after they beat Izihlobo 2-0 with Hawks accounting for Black Rhinos by the same scoreline.
The winners will then take on Bulawayo club Railstars who booked their place in the final after overcoming former coach Itsanang Abu-Basuthu’s new club Support Unit from Harare 2-0.

Meanwhile, Bulawayo side ZRP Raiders claimed the women’s trophy after beating all the four clubs they played against in the round robin format competition.
They thrashed Izihlobo, MSU and Diamonds 3-0 apiece while handing Highlanders a 3-1 beating.
