The latest season of Love Island UK has entered its most dramatic phase yet, and Zimbabwean-rooted contestant Simba Kudyiwa has once again found himself at the centre of attention after breaking down emotionally while confessing his feelings for Angelista Gunda.

In scenes that quickly spread across social media, Simba admitted that despite everything that happened during Casa Amor, his feelings for Angie had become stronger than he expected. The emotional moment came after days of tension between the pair and has reignited debate among viewers over whether the Zimbabwean couple could still find their way back to each other before the final.

The emotional confession appears to have marked a turning point in their relationship. Following days of uncertainty, Simba and Angelista have since reunited and are once again coupled up, with the pair deciding to give their romance another chance. Their reconciliation has been welcomed by many viewers, particularly Zimbabwean fans who had backed the couple from the moment Simba entered the villa as a bombshell contestant.

One of the season’s biggest twists came with Casa Amor, widely regarded by fans as the show’s ultimate loyalty test. During Casa Amor, the boys and girls are separated into different villas before each group is introduced to a new set of attractive singles. Contestants must then decide whether to stay loyal to their original partners or explore new relationships, often leading to heartbreak and dramatic recouplings.

Casa Amor dramatically altered the course of the season.

Several couples who appeared strong before the twist returned divided, while others surprised viewers by remaining loyal. Among the relationships most affected was that of Simba and Angelista.

Angelista entered the villa as one of the original contestants before Simba arrived later as a bombshell. His decision to immediately couple up with her came as little surprise to fans after his younger brother appeared to hint on social media that Angie was the contestant Simba had planned to pursue before entering the villa.

Their connection quickly became one of the season’s standout storylines, with Angelista describing Simba as “a piece of home” because of their shared Zimbabwean heritage. Zimbabwean viewers were quick to rally behind the pair, celebrating their relationship on one of Britain’s biggest television programmes.

However, Casa Amor tested that bond severely.

Separated from Angie, Simba chose to explore other connections and became one of the most talked-about contestants after repeatedly declaring that he was “definitely, definitely, definitely, definitely open” to meeting the new girls, a moment that quickly became a social media meme among Love Island fans. His flirtations during Casa Amor left many viewers questioning whether his relationship with Angelista could survive.

The fallout extended beyond the couple themselves. Angie’s closest friends in the villa, particularly Yasmin and Jasmine, have been among those encouraging her to carefully consider whether she should continue pursuing Simba after everything that unfolded during Casa Amor. On the other side, Simba has found himself defending his actions to the boys, insisting that he simply wanted to give himself the best chance of finding a genuine connection.

These tensions have increasingly divided the villa’s friendship groups, adding another layer of drama beyond the romantic relationships.

Away from the Zimbabwean storyline, several couples have emerged as strong contenders for the final. Tommy and Yasmin continue to enjoy significant public support after consistently choosing each other despite the various twists, while Sean and Lola have also strengthened their relationship in recent episodes. Other couples remain on uncertain ground as they attempt to rebuild trust following Casa Amor, making this year’s competition one of the most unpredictable in recent memory.

The drama intensified further during the return of Movie Night, one of Love Island’s most anticipated annual challenges. During Movie Night, contestants gather around an outdoor screen to watch previously unseen clips revealing conversations, kisses and behaviour that took place behind their partners’ backs, particularly during Casa Amor. The challenge is designed to expose secrets that contestants hoped would stay hidden and often changes the course of the competition.

This year’s edition delivered exactly that. Several contestants were left shocked after watching footage of their partners’ actions during Casa Amor, reigniting old arguments and creating new ones. Emotional confrontations followed as islanders demanded explanations for what they had seen, leaving several relationships hanging by a thread.

With Movie Night now behind them, attention has shifted to the next recoupling and dumping as the competition moves into its closing stages. Contestants left single or receiving the least public support risk leaving the villa, while those who survive move one step closer to the Love Island UK crown.

For Zimbabwean viewers, Simba and Angelista remain one of the season’s biggest talking points. Simba’s emotional confession has now added a fresh twist to their story, raising the question that many fans are asking: after all the drama, could the Zimbabwean pair still be heading for a reunion?
