COSTA Nhamoinesu and Madinda Ndlovu marched towards championship medals in their respective leagues in the Czech Republic and Botswana. It was however more misery for Vusa Nyoni as his Belgian side Mons moved closer to relegation after failing to take advantage of their home outing against Ovidy Karuru’s OH Leuven in the relegation play-offs. The match ended 1-1 and the two sides will now go into another final round of the play-offs.
While the two Zimbabweans are casting the kinsmanship aside in a bid to survive, former AmaZulu leftback, Nhamoinesu’s side, Sparta Praha won away 1-0 win over Slovacko to remain eight points clear at the top with seven games to wrap up the season. Nhamoinesu was shown a yellow card in the 83rd minute and is set to miss his side’s next match.
Legendary Ndlovu, chasing a record three straight league titles in Botswana as a coach emerged 2-0 winners over Police X1 with his Township Rollers side to remain three points on top with as many matches to go. Ndlovu won back-to-back league titles with Mochudi Centre Chiefs before dumping them for Popa, as Township Rollers are also known as and is well on course unless something drastic happens in the next three matches.
In Romania, Mike Temwanjira, who has become a regular at Vaslui, suffered a shock 0-1 defeat to struggling Viltorul Constanta.
