ZIMCAFE International – a new pub and restaurant in Victoria Falls will officially be opened next week Friday ahead of the 21st February Movement celebrations being held in the resort town a day later.
The restaurant which will be opened by Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Walter Mzembi is set to add on to the resort’s already glowing night life.
Situated at Zambezi Centre in the resort town, ZimCafe International is expected to equal the standards of the two outlets in Harare which have excellent cuisine and provide quality entertainment.
ZiFM’s Kimble Rogers, DJ Dexter and former Chez Ntemba DJ, Buzzy are expected to entertain guests.
Isaac Neshamba, director of ZimCafe said while competition was stiff in the resort area, ZimCafe had a unique dining experience which tourists and visitors would find irresistible.
“We did our survey and found out that a lot of hangouts in the resort town lack quality entertainment. Every Thursday, there’ll be live performances from different bands.
“We’ll also host top DJs from StarFM, PowerFM and ZiFM,” he said.
“We’re steadily growing in the region and hopefully we’re going to hit the international scene. The Victoria Falls pub is up-market and a bit spacious to ensure that diners and revellers enjoy themselves freely.”
Neshamba said the pub was not suitable for those below 21 years as their target was mature crowds.
“The hangout is not for under-21’s as our target clientele is the mature crowds. Breakfast will be served as well as our signature traditional dishes from Zimbabwe,” he said.
He said there were plans to set up an outlet in Bulawayo but this would be determined by the success of the Victoria Falls pub.
“Depending on how the Vic Falls branch will perform, we’re considering having ZimCafe in Bulawayo and Gweru before we set up in Livingstone and Lusaka as we spread our wings,” Neshamba said.
