adminThe event’s co-ordinator confirmed that all was in place for the show that would also see the festival’s founder, Sweden-based Luckson “Manluckers Chikuti, launching his fourth album, “Gutu My Roots”.
“All is set and for the fête and all participants are ready to make their performances. We already have partners marketing the show in Sweden and different social media. We are looking forward to hosting a great cultural music show,” said Publisher Chikepe.
The co-ordinator also highlighted that the show would present a rich display of traditional music elements that he said was lacking in the local sector.
“It will also be a learning curve for artistes as well,” he said.
Maungira Enharira are also expected to give a good account of themselves the event.
The festival founder spoke on the festival from his base in Sweden.
He highlighted that it has been held three times every year ever since its inception in April 2007.
“The festival’s objective is to bring people together through celebrating cultures from different parts of the world. We also aim to promote awareness through music,” said Chikutu.
“This is also a chance to showcase Zimbabwe’s unique traditional music and entertain our people living in Sweden. We have had local artistes like Hope Masike making appearances at the same festival here in Sweden and now it is even better since we are bringing it home,” he said.
Chikutu, who is now a qualified international music producer and works as a manager in music management, believes he has what it takes to successfully host the music festival locally.
He also expressed his excitement about Zimfeb coming to Zimbabwe saying it brings diversity in the music sector.
“We are hoping to bring a representative from the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe to grace the event together with guests from Sweden,” he said.
