THE Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services Commissioner General, retired Major General Paradzai Zimondi, has bemoaned corruption within the organisation and the country.

In a speech read on his behalf by ZPCS deputy Commissioner General Moses Ngawaite Chihobvu at a graduation ceremony at Ntabazinduna Prisons Training school, Comm-Gen Zimondi denounced ZPCS members who engage in corruption and abuse social media.

“Corruption has proved to be a cancer in the service and the country at large. Apart from tarnishing individuals’ social standing corruption also negates the country’s socio-economic growth and development. To attain economic growth and development each and every one of us should work towards nipping such vices in the bud,” said Comm-Gen Zimondi.

Rtd Major Gen Zimondi said trainees were privileged to have presentations from within and outside their organisation.

He urged the graduates to continue improving themselves academically.

A total of 207 students graduated comprising 154 males and 53 females.
