Zimpapers today recognised its female employees for their contribution to the growth and success of the organisation during celebrations to mark International Women’s Day at Herald House in Harare.

The commemorations, held under the theme “Empowered Women, Sustainable Futures,” brought together women from across the organisation’s departments for a special luncheon as their role in driving the media house forward was celebrated.

Speaking during the event, Zimpapers board chairperson Mrs Doreen Sibanda said women play a central role in shaping the institution and ensuring it remains strong and credible in the media landscape.

“Across our editorial rooms, printing presses, advertising departments, finance offices, digital platforms and administration teams, women are central to the Zimpapers story. You help shape the voice of our institution, strengthen our operations and ensure that we remain a trusted pillar in the media landscape,” she said.

Mrs Sibanda said the commemoration also provided an opportunity for the organisation to reflect on progress made in advancing gender equality while recommitting to empowering women socially, economically and professionally.

International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8, celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women while also raising awareness on the need to accelerate gender equality and women’s empowerment across the world.
