A CYBER security conference organised by Zimpapers and the Ministry of Information Communication Technology and Cyber Security gets underway at the Celebration Centre in Harare today.
The indaba gives business a platform to contribute to the National Strategy Document on Cyber Security.
The Herald and Chronicle are the official media partners.
Other partners are Econet Wireless, Grant Thornton, the Zimbabwe Information Communication Technology and the Harare Institute of Technology.
Mrs Elizabeth Mushonga, the co-ordinator, said the aim of the conference is to give business a platform to contribute to the National Strategy Document on Cyber Security.
It is also an opportunity for business to appreciate the cyber threats and budget for them.
The indaba will be interactive and enable participants to make contributions.
At the indaba companies will be given an opportunity to showcase their products.
Specialists on cyber security will share best practices and life experiences of cyber attacks and defence mechanism.
The increase in cyber crimes in Zimbabwe has seen Government coming up with the National Strategy Document on Cyber Security.
The documents seeks to combat such things as online theft, defamation, peddling of falsehood, fraud and bully- ing.
