THE new Zimpapers board yesterday toured the company’s premises in Harare to familiarise with its operations.
Led by its chairperson Dr Charles Utete, the board visited The Herald, Star FM and Natprint.
At Star FM, Dr Utete joined disc jockey Kudzai Gwara live on air and expressed confidence in Zimpapers’ future.
He said the main purpose of the tour was for new members to familiarise themselves with the company’s operations.
“As you know there is a new board which was appointed, four of us are from the old board while eight are new members. We wanted to see what is going on here, we saw the new printing press, the splendid infrastructure and most importantly you, the workers who are an important pillar to the group. The board is very impressed by everything that we saw here and the new printing press,” he said.
Dr Utete said the board was in the process of crafting the group’s vision.
“Today we just had our first meeting at The Herald to debate on what the future holds for us. To sum up the vision, I can say it is excellence in performance. The future looks bright. As a board we want the group to outstrip competition wherever it is,” he said. Dr Utete thanked management at Zimpapers headed by chief executive officer Mr Justin Mutasa, for a sterling job.
