Zimpapers Group tackles drug abuse in Chi-Town

H-Metro Reporter

AFTER successfully launching the anti-drug abuse campaign in Dzivaresekwa last weekend, Zimpapers Group is not stopping for a breather.

Tomorrow, ZTN PRIME, in partnership with Capitalk FM and H-Metro, will host the much-anticipated Corporates Pool Tournament at Damview Resort in Chitungwiza.

It will be held under the theme “Eradicating Drug  and Substance Abuse.”

Event coordinator and Zimpapers Group Public Relations and Communications Manager, Pauline Matanda, confirmed the event.

“Our initiative started from the grassroots level and we believe if we engage the corporate world at this level, we can reach a broader audience.

“Communities are on the cusp of a crisis on how to respond to the need for rehabilitation to the affected youths and lack of commitment thereof.”

Matanda added:

“The drug-free factor cannot come to fruition without a strong commitment presence within the corporate world.

“A widening gap, amongst affected areas, has implications beyond economic and social inequities.

“It undermines the very fabric on which our society is built.

“We are trying to push Ubuntu within our communities and let us help the affected get the right state of mind, and if need be, engage them with various vocational schools being provided by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training.”
