Zimpapers honours vendors

Zimpapers newspaper vendors have made immense contribution in selling newspapers despite growing competition in the industry, Harare branch general manager Mr Samuel Bepe has said.

Speaking at a prize-giving ceremony for Harare Branch vendors at Herald House in Harare last week, Mr Bepe said vendors were a vital cog in newspaper distribution.

He urged them to remain vigilant in the marketplace.

Mr Bepe said the prizes were meant to motivate vendors and honour them for their contribution.

Herald managing editor Mrs Victoria Ruzvidzo implored vendors never to underestimate their role.

“Do not underestimate your contribution. Your input is very vital towards the growth of the company,” she said.

Circulation manager Mr Simbarashe Chirahwi said vendors were playing a role that ensured a further rise in sales.

Ms Judith Kaseke, who received the first prize for outstanding sales of The Herald, said she was happy to see vendors being recognised for their contribution.

The vendors were given grocery hampers, ahead of the Christmas holiday.

“It is good to see that you value the contribution that we make as vendors. This motivates us,” she said.

The ceremony witnessed the awarding of prizes to 12 vendors who had outstanding sales of The Herald, the Sunday Mail, H-Metro and Kwayedza.
