The Herald- The country’s largest integrated media group, Zimpapers (1980) Limited, hosted the Artificial Intelligence (AI) /Digital Conference in Harare today, bringing together experts and stakeholders to explore the transformative impact of digital technologies on various sectors.
Running under the theme ‘Navigating the AI Revolution: Data, Pricing, and Taxation in Zimbabwe’, the conference aims to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing, highlighting the significance of adopting AI.
In her presentation on AI’s impact on Zimbabwe’s public sector workforce, Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister, Tatenda Mavetera, said the Government was developing a policy framework to ensure ethical and effective AI integration.
She also revealed plans for support programmes to assist individuals transitioning to new job opportunities arising from AI.
Other distinguished attendees include Potraz director-general Dr Gift Machengete, and Zimpapers CEO, Mr Pikirayi Deketeke.
