THE Zimbabwe Newspapers group in partnership with Island Hospice will this year host its annual Cancer Walk on 9 November in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare and Kariba

Zimpapers Public Relations and Corporate Affairs Manager, Ms Beatrice Tonhodzayi, said the campaign is aimed at educating the public on different kinds of cancers.

“The major objective of the campaign is to educate the public on the cancers that are most prevalent in this part of the world, how to prevent them and where possible how to treat them. The campaign also focuses on the importance of keeping cancer patients comfortable and without pain (palliative care and hospice).”

The public and corporates have been invited to take part in the five kilometer walk at their respective cities, with money paid as registration fees going to assist organisations dealing with cancer. Corporates and individuals have also been urged to partner in cash or in kind.
