Zimpapers’ scribe among honoured Mash-West top achievers

DIVERSIFIED media group, Zimpapers’ Mashonaland West bureau, Conrad Mupesa was Wednesday honoured in Kadoma as one of the province’s top achievers and influencers.Mupesa scooped the Province’s Best Agriculture Reporter of the Year at the Mashonaland West Excellence Awards organised by the Agricultural Show Society.

It also recognises government departments and corporations operating in the province.

Other outstanding personnel that received awards include Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland West, Mr Josphat Jaji, Agritex provincial director, Mrs Evelyn Ndoro, renowned businessman and owner of popular Chinhoyi drinking spot Gwayagwaya Mr Thoedore Mhlanga.

Mr Mhlanga was honoured for his philanthropic works which include spearheading efforts to secure a vehicle for the Chinhoyi Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Institutions that were also honoured include Sanyati Baptist and Sandringham High Schools, Muduvuri Hospital, and Chinhoyi University of Technology, among many others.

Mashonaland West Minister of State, Marian Chombo officiated at the event where she challenged people to make a difference in their professions and communities.

Mashonaland West Agricultural Show Society chairman, Mr Godfrey Mavankeni said plans were to grow the event.
