ONWARD Gangata, the Zimpapers Sports Hub Correspondent based in Gweru, was on Friday crowned the Zimbabwe Union of Journalists Midlands Sportswriter of the Year.
Gangata is conversant with a number of sporting disciplines. He has over the years, impressing with his wide coverage of Midlands sport with so much passion.
“It feels great to be recognised by colleagues in the industry for the work that you are doing, winning the award gives me the strength to keep going. I am truly humbled to have won this accolade. Many thanks to all my editors for pushing me so hard to be here,” said Gangata on Sunday evening.
