Zimpapers will hold a Safe Driving Campaign and Conference on September 20 as part of efforts to combat road fatalities on the country’s roads.
The day will run under the theme ‘Reduce Road Carnage: Stop. Think. Act’.

In a statement, the diversified media group emphasised the need to tackle the factors that cause road accidents.

“Zimpapers is deeply concerned about the staggering 2 000 annual road fatalities in Zimbabwe, with five lives lost daily. Most of these tragic accidents are due to human error,” reads part of the statement.

“Zimpapers is calling on stakeholders to join in reducing road carnage. Join us on September 20, 2024, for a conference that brings together all stakeholders to discuss and find solutions to improve road safety.

“You can support this noble cause through sponsoring, exhibiting, or booking a seat while your brand is featured prominently.”

The Sunday Mail has begun publishing poignant stories of those impacted by road traffic accidents as they highlight the urgent need for collective action.
