Zimplats chairman resigns

“This follows David’s resignation from that date as Chief Executive Officer of the majority shareholder, Impala Platinum Holdings Limited,” Zimplats said in a statement.

Zimplats said Mr Brown, who joined the company in 2001 and became chairman of the board in 2010, had been an integral part of the development and success of the company since joining the board in 2001.

It was under his tenure that Zimplats came up with an indigenisation plan which resulted in the company being the first in the country to launch a Community Share Ownership Trust with the injection of $10 million for community projects in the Mhondoro-Ngezi, Mubayira and Zvimba area.
Zimplats said Mr Brown’s successor would be named soon.
