Zimpost has reaffirmed its dedication to ethical governance by signing the Corporate Integrity Pledge.
The ceremony, which took place at the Zimpost Harare Main Post Office last Friday, was conducted under the guidance of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC).
It underscores Zimpost’s commitment to transparency, accountability and integrity.
Zimpost Postmaster General, Mr Maxwell Chitendeni, emphasised that the pledge is far more than a symbolic gesture.
He said it represents a binding, public commitment by the organisation to uphold ethical standards, prevent corruption and embed integrity at the centre of its operations.
“Integrity and ethical conduct are the foundation stones of sustainable growth and public trust,” said Mr Chitendeni.
“By signing this pledge, Zimpost is not just making a public declaration, but is committing to lead by example and foster a culture of honesty, responsibility and good governance within the company.”
The Corporate Integrity Pledge, a voluntary social contract, binds organisations to actively combat corruption and conduct business responsibly.
By taking this step, Zimpost has joined a growing number of state-owned enterprises committed to clean, accountable corporate practices.
ZACC commended Zimpost’s leadership, management, and staff for taking this initiative, highlighting that such proactive measures are critical in improving public confidence and enhancing service delivery.
The pledge outlines several key commitments, including delivering duties with honesty, professionalism, and transparency, while adhering to Zimpost’s national and international mandates.
It also involves upholding the code of conduct and maintaining high ethical standards in all responsibilities and providing efficient, inclusive, and accessible postal services that prioritise public interest over personal gain, among other things.
The pledge also promotes moral and professional development, fostering positive transformation within Zimpost and beyond.
Zimpost’s leadership expressed that this commitment is part of a broader strategy to modernise operations and align with the organisation’s vision of becoming a trusted and innovative logistics and communication solutions provider.
