ZIMPRAISE member Desire Makoni successfully launched his debut album titled Jesus The Ultimate Gift at the weekend in Harare.
It was recorded at Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation (JCMC) where he also works.
The 32-year-old’s album launch culminated into a night of praise and worship which touched the hearts of many with his spiritually uplifting songs.
Makoni rose to fame after releasing two songs namely Mushandiri Washe and Kana Toyambuka Jordan.
On his latest album, Makoni has some refreshing compositions like Ndinodada Nemi, Muvaki Weguta, Rumbidzo, Ngaarumbudzwe Mwari, Hakuna Anoramba and The Same.
He preaches the eternal gospel of having faith in God.
Some of the tracks give hope to those in despair.
In an interview with H-Metro, Makoni believes he was sent by God to save lost souls.
“I think I was given this special gift as a way of helping others who need my expertise.
“As an artist, I have a mandate to sing music with a substance to ensure that we change people’s lives.
“I would like to be remembered as someone who changed many lives for the better.
“I don’t want to be remembered as an ordinary singer,” he said.
Makoni, who is married to Victoria Marichi, believes he should be an exemplary dad.
“As a God fearing man and husband, I want to leave a legacy to my children and all those who look up to me.
“I will keep on praying so that I get more wisdom from God,” he added.
