IT was a night when praise became poetry and worship turned into a fierce yet joyful contest of voices.
The Zimpraise Apostolic Gathering 2025 transformed Glamis Arena into sacred ground as choirs from across denominations took turns delivering unforgettable performances that blended power, artistry, and faith in one sweeping sound of unity.
Almost twenty years since its formation, Zimpraise proved once again why it remains the heartbeat of Zimbabwean gospel music.
The group’s annual gatherings have always drawn crowds, but this year’s edition felt different — richer, bolder, and more collaborative.
The event truly lived up to its theme, “It’s All About Jesus,” as each act offered something unique yet perfectly connected to the bigger spirit of the night.
ZCC Choir set the tone with a high-energy traditional performance that shook the ground — drums pounding, feet stomping and voices rising in powerful harmony.
Their rhythmic discipline and rich Shona chants reminded everyone that worship can move both body and spirit.
They were followed by Spirit Praise, whose contemporary flair and vibrant harmonies gave the event its modern edge.
Their take on “Jesus Reigns” turned the arena into a living choir, with the crowd joining in every chorus.
The Vabvuwi UMC ensemble offered a more classical approach, their brass section and layered vocals bringing a nostalgic Methodist richness that carried both reverence and joy.
ROMAC shifted the energy into something theatrical blending movement, storytelling and intense harmonies in a performance that could easily belong on a musical stage.
Trinity Singers from the Anglican Church brought elegance and composure, their angelic voices floating across the arena in a stunning rendition of “How Great Thou Art.”
It was the kind of performance that demanded stillness – every note measured, every harmony pure.
Then came the youthful pulse of Redeemed Music Group, infusing Afro-fusion beats into gospel praise with dazzling choreography.
Grace Choir followed with an equally dynamic set, their soulful medleys marked by crisp harmonies and effortless transitions.
As the night built toward its peak, Vabati VaJehova added their trademark traditional resonance, filling the air with hauntingly beautiful mbira tones and unmistakable vocal chemistry.
The Vine came next, lively and spirited, blending contemporary worship with youthful energy that had everyone dancing.
By the time Heartfelt Choir closed the line-up with their signature anointed vocals and powerful worship delivery, the audience was on its feet, hands raised, voices united.
When the final note faded, Zimpraise founder and leader Joseph Madziyire took to the stage, visibly moved by what he had witnessed.
“This was never about competition,” he said. “It was about showing that the Church in Zimbabwe can stand as one voice.
“After almost twenty years of Zimpraise, tonight we saw the vision becoming reality — one sound, one heart, one message: Jesus at the centre.”
Madziyire described the Apostolic Gathering as both a reflection and a prophecy.
“What began in 2006 as a dream has become a movement that belongs to the whole nation.
“We’ve seen God’s grace sustain us for nearly two decades, and this gathering reminds us that His work is only beginning. The unity we felt tonight is the future of gospel music in Africa.”
The introduction of the SahwiGate ticketing system made the gathering more accessible, showing how faith and technology can blend to create community.
As the lights dimmed and thousands drifted out singing softly to themselves, one truth remained clear – Zimpraise has not lost its fire.
