Zimre completes all projects targeted for 2011

completion this year.
Zimre, which has a solid track record as a property developer, completed projects in Mutare, the Rhodene Extension in Masvingo, as well as successfully servicing the Parklands project in Bulawayo before the end of the year.
The property development company has other completed projects in Harare, Gweru and Kwekwe.
In a statement Zimre property manager Mr Steven Kapfunde said his organisation has been striving to do well despite the economic hardships the country is faced with.
“Our aim is to become the best private developer in the country and from the projects we have done so far, I am sure we are heading somewhere,” he said.
At the height of hyperinflation, he said, they managed to service 136 stands in Bulawayo.
“This was a major milestone for the company given that the project was implemented and completed at the height of hyperinflation and using internal resources.”
He said their aim was to exploit business opportunities that benefit communities while meeting stakeholders’ profit expectations.
He said Zimre has managed to create employment for the downstream industries.
“We mainly work with companies into contraction for roads, sewer and water, concrete products, sample house construction, roof tiles and bricks for the sample house,” he said.
He said their aim was to create employment for the local economy through engagement of local expertise or technical skills and unskilled labour, which will be required.
“Besides creating employment, we will be addressing the housing backlogs in most of the cities that we will be dealing with.
“Moreover, it brings additional infrastructure such as sewer and water reticulation to the undeveloped areas and provides an additional revenue base for councils,” he said.
