ZIMBABWE’S Ambassador-designate to Cuba, Patrick Ronald Mutasa has presented his style copies to Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, marking a key step toward assuming his diplomatic duties in Havana.

According to the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister Rodríguez Camejo received Ambassador Mutasa in a brief ceremony during which both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

“At the meeting, we highlighted the deep bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite both peoples and reaffirmed our interest in continuing to strengthen bilateral relations,” Rodríguez Camejo said after the engagement,” he said.

The presentation of Style Copies is a standard protocol requirement that precedes the formal accreditation of ambassadors.

Before departing for Cuba, Ambassador Mutasa held consultations in Harare with Cuban Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa.

The two reviewed progress achieved in 2025 and outlined priorities for bilateral cooperation in the coming year.

Both diplomats said the high level of exchanges and official visits during the past year had helped consolidate the basis for continued collaboration.

They also discussed ongoing projects in areas of mutual interest and the legal frameworks supporting them.

Ambassador Mutasa said Zimbabwe and Cuba shared a long-standing commitment to cooperation and expressed confidence that economic and technical collaboration would continue to expand.

He also acknowledged what both sides described as the “excellent state” of political and cooperative relations, particularly in health and education.

Ambassador Mutasa is expected to formally assume his role after presenting his Letters of Credence to Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
