NATIONAL trade development and promotion body Zimtrade is today launching a roadshow in Bulawayo meant to create awareness of the upcoming Intra-Africa Trade Fair (IATF 2025), to be held in Algeria in September.
This marks the first engagement session to mobilise Zimbabwean companies for Africa’s premier trade and investment platform.
Organised by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the African Union (AU), and the AfCFTA Secretariat, the IATF brings together over 2,000 exhibitors from 75 countries, offering unmatched opportunities for trade, investment matchmaking, and business networking.
Zimtrade chief executive officer and Zimbabwe’s IATF Ambassador, Allan Majuru, said Zimbabwe has a strong track record at previous IATF editions, securing trade deals worth over US$20 million.
He said with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) unlocking new markets, this year’s participation presents even greater potential for exporters.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Zimtrade has actively opened doors for exporters through market research and trade missions in Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, Angola, Equatorial Guinea, and other continental markets.
“There is growing demand for Zimbabwean products across Africa,” said Mr Majuru. “The IATF enables local companies to forge continental connections, expand trade, and fully leverage AfCFTA benefits.”
The breakfast meeting has brought together representatives from Afreximbank, along with Government stakeholders, to provide exclusive insights into IATF2025 opportunities, including details on how Zimbabwean businesses can maximise their participation at this pivotal continental event. Businesses eager to grow their African footprint are strongly encouraged to participate.
