adminIn an interview, Zimura branch manager Clarence Garura said they held a similar meeting in Harare, but in their efforts to decentralise operations they decided to bring it to Bulawayo.
“It was unfair for artistes from the southern region having to travel to Harare everytime. So for the first time we are having the second leg of the AGM here,” he said.
Garura said the agenda had not changed from the Harare one and the issue of ZBC’s non-payment of royalties and piracy would be under the spotlight, among other issues.
ZBC has not paid Zimura artistes’ royalties since 2009.
Garura said they would use the event to officially launch Zimura Cell Funeral Scheme and also discuss the formation of a housing scheme that musicians were agitating for.
“We are calling on all artistes to attend as it is for their benefit,” he said.
Artistes expected to attend are from Bulawayo, Kwekwe, Gweru, Gwanda, Beitbridge and Plumtree, among other areas.
