MUSICIAN Vimbai Zimuto has charmed an artist from Cape Verde, Tony Pirata, who lured her for the song titled ‘‘African People (Zigi Zigi)’’ whose visuals were shot in Mbare.
The song, Zigi Zigi, features Ladiantz and Zimuto.
Zimuto said they thought of shooting the video in Mbare after he invited Pirata to Zimbabwe.
Speaking to H-Metro, Zimuto revealed she shared a special friendship with the Cape Verde choreographer, dancer cum musician.
“Tony and I are friends and we met in the Kizomba scene. He is a Kizomba teacher and Afro choreographer.
“So we clicked because of our artistry and he asked me to be in his song called Zigi Zigi.
“That’s how the idea came about.
“He also features as a vixen in one of my songs, which is still to be released.
“I invited him to come and see my country as a visitor and he joined me in my Kizomba workshop and the video shoot idea was impromptu.
“It was great working with him.”
She is happy with the way music fans have reacted to the song Zigi Zigi.
“The song is great and the response is really amazing, and I am happy with the song,” said Zimuto.
Initially, Zimuto, who was happy to feature on Pirata’s song, had posted about the collaboration on her IG just before its release.
She also hailed the Mbare residents.
“Dropping tomorrow (26 August) is this beautiful collaboration with my favourite international choreographer, dancer-cum-musician, big up to you. @tonypirataaa from Cape Verde
