The Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (Zinara) has begun the search for a substantive chief executive officer (CEO) following the resignation of Mr Frank Chitukutuku in May last year.
Engineer Moses Juma has been acting CEO. Zinara yesterday advertised in local media that they were looking for a CEO.
“Zinara would like to recruit a visionary, innovative, strategic and results oriented leader to fill the position of chief executive officer. The purpose of the job is to provide strategic leadership and direction, including ensuring the achievement of Zinara’s vision and mandate and advise the board on critical developments at the Agency,” reads part of the advertisement.
Applicants should have a first degree in Business Management or equivalent, Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a bias towards strategic management, minimum of 10 years experience at senior management level and should be aged between 38 and 50 years. Mr Chitukutuku resigned under unclear circumstances, three months before the lapse of his contract. His resignation came after Transport and Infrastructure Development Minister Dr Obert Mpofu, voiced concern at how accountability was lacking at Zinara, especially on funds collected at tollgates.
In July last year, Dr Mpofu also appointed a new Zinara board headed by Mr Albert Mugabe in an acting capacity.
The other board members are Victoria Falls mayor Mr Sifiso Mpofu, Coach and Bus Operators Association representative Mr Farium Alex Kautsiro, Mr Jeffrey Nkomo, Mr David Norupiri, Engineer Norman Muzvidzwa, Mr Peter Hlohla, Engineer Martha Ndoro, Mrs Natsai Jaiwa and Chief Khulumani Mathema.
