THE Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) is aiming to licence at least one million vehicles by the end of this year.
This initiative is part of broader efforts to encourage motorists to renew their vehicle licences and adhere to regulations consistently.
As part of this campaign, ZINARA is rewarding compliant motorists with various prizes.
On Wednesday in Harare, ZINARA celebrated the winners of its Licence and Win promotion, which began on October 1, 2024, and concluded on February 28, 2025.
The promotion attracted 792 662 participants, and the winners were announced on March 14, 2025.
Among the sponsors contributing to the prizes were, Old Mutual, National Building Society Bank (NBS), Cell Insurance, Steward Bank and 10 10 Tech.
ZINARA chief executive, Mr Nkosinathi Ncube, represented by Mrs Patience Shuro, the director of revenue operations, emphasised the importance of vehicle licencing as not just a legal requirement, but a critical element in maintaining safe and functional roads.
He said 88 percent of revenue collected from vehicle licensing was reinvested into the national road network.
