EMMANUEL ZINYAMA has reminded the entire Northern Region Soccer League that he means business after winning the SUPAFIX NRSL Player of the Month award for April.
The N’ombeyawora midfielder, who once played Premiership football with Harare City was phenomenal for the Mabvuku team, covering every blade of grass in easily be best of the country’s Division One Leagues.
He has been the pillar of the unbeaten log leaders and last week, he grabbed the winning goal in their 2-1 win over Cranborne Bullets at One Commando and a time when the visitors had been reduced to 10 men.
Zinyama’s coach Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera, as largely expected won the Coach of the Month award with another N’ombeyawora star forward Tadiwa Chibunyu sharing the month’s Golden Boot prize with Zambezi G & C’s Em-manuel Chambara after the pair scored three goals each for the period under review.
Ngezi U19 goalkeeper Tendai Kamwanda and his PAM counterpart Mathius Jalazio also shared the Golden Glove reward.
NRSL vice-chairman Sweeny Mushonga hailed SUPAFIX for partnering one of the best-run leagues in the country.
“We remain indebted to our partners SUPAFIX for choosing to honour our monthly outstanding achievers and we have no doubt these awards will spur our players to give their utmost performances,” said Mushonga.
“We look forward to recognizing the hard work of our players and coaches for the entire season.”
Meanwhile Saruchera, whose team is leading the race having amassed 10 points in four games is wary of in-form Chinhoyi Rangers.
Rangers will visit Saruchera’s men at The Heart Stadium in a highly-anticipated Match-Day 5 tie this afternoon.
N’ombeyawora will be without Chibunyu who begins through suspension after he was red-carded in the match against Cranborne Bullets last week.
Rangers are on a good run of form having won their last two games and can take their tally to within a single point of N’ombeyawora if they find a way to navigate through them this afternoon.
Another on-fire outfit, Zambezi G&C are only a point shy of N’ombeyawora going into their home game against Agama at Centenary Sports Club.
Seasoned campaigners Golden Eagles, who are a further point down and third on the log standings, host winless newboys FC Oden Ellis Robins School in another Match-Day 5 encounter this afternoon.
