SIMBA Bhora midfielder, Emmanuel Ziocha, is having a dream season with the champions.
Ziocha has registered 14 assists and netted three times in 20 games.
He bagged a brace of assists last Saturday when Simba Bhora floored Herentals in a five-goal thriller at Rufaro.
Simba Bhora are leading the championship race with 40 points.
They have scored 24 goals in this campaign. Ziocha’s contributions are driving a young and vibrant Simba Bhora side’s bid to reclaim the championship.
They are now 14 games away from winning their second championship in a row.
His next assignment is against his old club Dynamos. His exit from the Glamour Boys was seen as a step backwards in his career. But, it appears to have opened doors for him to become one of the best midfielders in the domestic league.
Simba Bhora gaffer, Joel Luphahla, made him his priority target after his arrival earlier this season.
Last season at DeMbare, he mostly played on the right wing.
There was no way of dislodging Tanaka Shandirwa from the central role.
Now Luphahla has granted Ziocha the freedom of the city as he sometimes operates as a false nine, right of left wing and in the centre of the park.
He has built a good combination with Donald Mudadi and Junior Makunike in midfield. Namibian import, Sydney Gurirab, is the team’s leading goal-scorer as he has scored eight goals this season.
Luphahla is not happy with the way his men are coming from behind to win games.
“Yeah, I am happy, but I still feel that our boys should manage to win games without putting ourselves under pressure, because it’s not every day that you’re going to be able to come back,” he said.
“Teams like Herentals make it difficult for you to get any goals. I’ve said that they don’t give away goals easily, they don’t give away points easily, but I can’t take anything away from what the boys did.
“They tried very hard. It was a difficult game but at the end of the day, I think we are learning.”
