THE Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Union have appointed professional Claire Minter as national coach, with a mandate running through to 2028.
ZLGU executive committee led by president Marita Kahwema made the announcement yesterday.
Minter, a proven winner, dominated the local scene as an amateur, winning almost everything on offer before turning pro. She now brings that experience to the national team set up.
“The ZLGU executive committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Minter as the national coach for the period 2026-28,” the union said in a statement.
“The appointment marks an important step in strengthening the development of women’s golf in the country.
“Minter brings valuable experience, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to player development, which we believe will greatly benefit our national and provincial programmes.”
ZLGU, who have turned their focus on growth added that Minter will work with players, coaches, and provincial structures across the country to improve performance and create more opportunities.
“We are confident that her leadership and dedication will contribute significantly to the growth and competitiveness of Zimbabwean women’s golf,” the statement added.

“We encourage all provinces to extend their support and cooperation to Claire as she works with players, coaches, and provincial structures across the country to enhance performance and create greater opportunities for our golfers,” ZLGU said.
The ZLGU committee comprises president Marita Kahwema, vice-president Rodnah Mutasa, executive officer Stella Feldman and Honorary secretary Millicent Banda.
