Commission Chairman’s Trophy at a golf day at Royal Harare last week.
The Chairman’s Trophy was held to raise funds for charity organisations.
The team was made up of both seasoned and junior golfers who defied the odds to win the trophy in a field that featured 48 players. The women team managed to get the better of many teams, which included the FBC, BancABC, Beta Ladies, Shumba Golf, Spar. Sports Commission chairman, Joseph James, paid tribute to all those who helped make the day a success.
“This golf day will be an annual event and the proceeds will be channeled to charity and, in particular, the Cancer Association of Zimbabwe.
“We also give our thanks to the match commissioner Mark Manolos and the event organisers Mike Mahachi (Fiesta Holdings), Amon Nhau and the SRC business development and marketing department.
“The tournament was a success considering the turn-out and we hope to improve from here next year,” James said.
