ZMC hosts workshop to strengthen community media ethics and regulation

The Zimbabwe Media Commission is hosting a two-day Community Media Training Workshop at Bulawayo’s Rainbow Hotel.

The workshop aims to promote professional and accessible media development and regulation. Key topics include the pros and cons of AI in media, Zimbabwe’s media legal framework, and media ethics in community reporting.

Trainer Mr Vincent Kahiya led a discussion on the legal framework for media in Zimbabwe, focusing on constitutional rights and responsibilities, as well as the ZMC Act.

Meanwhile, Mr Tapfuma Machakaire shared a case study on media ethics and professionalism in covering communities, highlighting best practices for journalists.

The workshop brings together community media practitioners to enhance their skills and knowledge, ensuring responsible and professional media coverage.
