Commissioners from the Zimbabwe Media Commission (ZMC) yesterday met Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, where they briefed him on their activities and the challenges they have been facing since being sworn into office last year.

The commissioners were led by ZMC chairperson Professor Ruby Magosvongwe.

She said their meeting with Advocate Mudenda was important since Parliament plays a critical role in their existence.

“We briefed him on where we are since we were sworn in last year, some of the challenges and areas of cooperation through the Portfolio Committee on Media.

“Parliament is willing to establish a harmonious working relationship with the ZMC again through the Portfolio Committee on Media,” she said.

She said they had also briefed him on the budgetary requirements they expect to be addressed when the 2022 National Budget is presented later in the year.
