ZNA mourns Brig Gen (Retd) Mpabanga

The Zimbabwe National Army has been plunged into mourning following the death of Brigadier General (Retired) Samuel Mpabanga.

He died at Gwanda General Hospital on Monday after a long illness. He was 69.

A statement released by the ZNA last night, said: “The Commander Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi, on behalf of officers, men and women of the ZNA and indeed on his own behalf, is saddened to announce the death of Brigadier General (Retired) Samuel Mpabanga.”

Brig-Gen Mpabanga’s Chimurenga name was Moffat Nkomo.

Mourners are gathered at House Number 4 McGee Road Sauerstown, Bulawayo. More details on funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in due course.
