THE Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) and the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening trade, investment and private sector collaboration between the two countries.
The agreement was signed in Port Louis, Mauritius, in what ZNCC described as “A New Chapter in Mauritius-Zimbabwe Business Relations.”
The partnership is expected to deepen economic cooperation between Zimbabwean and Mauritian businesses through stronger business-to-business linkages, information exchange and increased investment opportunities.
“The partnership will strengthen business-to-business linkages, facilitate information exchange, promote investment opportunities and support greater private sector collaboration,” said ZNCC.
The agreement comes as Zimbabwe seeks to expand market access and attract investment through regional and continental trade frameworks, including the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Mauritius is regarded as an important financial and investment hub in the region, with expertise in financial services, manufacturing, logistics and tourism — sectors where Zimbabwe is seeking to deepen investment and partnerships.
ZNCC said the MoU would provide a platform for joint business forums, trade missions and the exchange of market intelligence, enabling companies from both countries to identify opportunities and better navigate regulatory environments.
The chamber said the agreement was also expected to create new opportunities for small and medium enterprises and larger companies to explore partnerships in agro-processing, manufacturing, information and communication technologies and services.
The partnership is expected to further strengthen private-sector-driven economic cooperation between Zimbabwe and Mauritius while creating opportunities for businesses to access new markets and investment networks.
