Popular dancer Noleen “Zoey” Sifelani has decided broaden her artistic appeal by venturing into the most popular art genre — music.
The dancer is working on an album that is due for release on Valentine’s Day. Zoey said she has decided to start the year on a high note by unveiling her other artistic side to her fans.

“I am very happy that for the first time in my life I will be releasing my an album next month. I know that most people did not expect this development but to me it’s a move to widen my wings in the arts industry,” she said.

Zoey has promised to do jungle roles as she will continue to entertain her fans with her dancing routines.

“My loyal fans should not feel abandoned because l will continue with dancing. I am just trying to earn more out of my talents,” she said
The 26-year-old artiste said becoming a musician does not mean that she is trying to copy pole dancer Beverly “Bev” Sibanda who also diversified into music last year.

“Some people might think that I’m trying to compete with or copy Bev but that is not the case. I don’t feel threatened by her and l have always been a musician but l never made it known to the public. It is now time for my fans to know the other side of Zoey,” she said.

The dancer said she is working with the likes of the Congolese chanter Gift “Shiga Shiga” Katulika who will assist her with some animation while her dance group  Red Angels does backing vocals.

“I do not want to pre-empt my big surprise to my fans but one of the people l am working with include Shiga Shiga and my Red Angels. I just encourage my fans to wait and see what Zoey does musically.”

Zoey featured on urban grooves musician Zhastar’s song “Babe Wasara” some time last year.

The raunchy dancer learnt dancing in South Africa and decided to bring the style back home. She has been doing the art for a couple of years and is largely seen as Bev’s competitor.

Bev did an album “Tapinda” with South African musician Freddy Gwala last year. Gwala came for the launch of the album and the two did a few shows but their combination did not yield expected results.

Zoey said she is ready to surpass Bev’s standard in music and insisted she was not singing for competition but to give her fans something new away from dance this year.
