THE Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) ladies’ team won bronze at the just-ended Zone 6 Beach Volleyball tournament in Lesotho.

The gold was won by Mozambique, who beat 13 other teams.

The Zimbabwe team comprised Levenia Marange and Progress Gasa, who were being coached by Israel Bandawa.

“I would like to thank the Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander who allowed us to participate in the tournament.

“We played against Mozambique early on and won, but then went on to lose to them in the semi-finals. “We beat Botswana 2-0 to win bronze.” The coach thanked the corporate world, Nyaradzo and CBZ Holdings, for sponsoring the team.

“I hope we will maintain the standard and always be the number one team in ladies’ beach volleyball in Zimbabwe.”
