ZPC Hwange back to winning ways

ZPC HWANGE bounced back to winning ways following a 2-1 victory over Bosso 90 in a Zifa Southern Region Division One mid-week encounter played at Chakona Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Joint leading top goal scorer Justin Kaunda and Admire Banda got the goals for ZPC Hwange with Mandisi Moyo finding the target for Bosso.
Going into this game ZPC Hwange was reeling from a 2-1 defeat against Mainline and was important for them to return to winning ways and cancel any thoughts that they could be involved in a monumental collapse having led the standings for the greater part of the season.
The victory took their points tally to 61 from 24 games.
Second-placed Casmyn also managed to come out with victory playing away to DRC United. Veteran striker Simba Sithole was on target as they maintained a 10 point gap between them and the table toppers.
Zimbabwe Saints were on top of their game when they played Indlovu Iyanyathela at Brady Barracks.
Chikwata got their goals through Sawusani Mdimba and Michael Ndlovu to register a two-nil victory.
Talen Vision continue to go through a rough patch as they lost at home to Bulawayo City in Filabusi.
Mosi Rovers once again failed to fulfil their fixture against Nkayi having done the same against Casmyn last weekend. Another no show will attract an expulsion which looks imminent for the Victoria Falls based team.
The battle for the league’s golden boot is heating up as ZPC Hwange’s Kaunda, Casmyns’ Tatenda Ushe and Bulawayo City’s Mbongeni Minezhi are tied on 14 goals with six games to the season’s end.
Meanwhile, in matches set for tomorrow afternoon, table toppers ZPC Hwange travel to face Jordan at Mthwakazi grounds while Casmyn entertain Adachi in Turkmine in what should be an exciting game.
Bosso 90 will entertain Victoria Falls City in a mid-afternoon kick-off at White City Stadium B-Arena.
