VETERAN ZPC coach Sunday Chidzambwa ended FC Platinum’s unbeaten run when his side made use of the two chances that came their way at Mandava Stadium yesterday. FC Platinum had gone for 28 games unbeaten, a feat that stretched from last season. Never Tigere’s 88th minute free kick and Tawanda Nyamandwe 41st minute header were enough to
hand ZPC their first maximum points of the season away from home.
Winston Mhango had drawn first blood for the hosts in the 17th minute. Tineyi Chitora was fouled in the box and the Kwekwe based referee Thabani Bamala who was impressive all afternoon awarded the visitors a free kick at the edge of the box.
Former Dongo Sawmills player Tigere’s free kick in the 88th minute beat Petros Mhari all systems out when he sent his effort past the FC Platinum wall to the right. FC Platinum midfielder maestro Mhango had marked his return from injury with a bang when he scored a beauty in the 17th minute.
A pass from Raphael Muduviwa who was given the nod ahead of Kelvin Moyo saw Mhango controlling the ball with his right foot before releasing a screamer outside the box with his right.
ZPC Kariba equalised in the 41st minute through when a Tigere corner kick from the left saw Nyamandwe out jumping the home side’s defence to beat the impressive Petros Mhari in goals for the platinum miners.
