THE Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) in Gwanda held football trials on Saturday to recruit and identify talented players to represent its team in the 2026 2 League.
The trials were held at the ZRP New Camp grounds in Gwanda, where more than 30 participants attended.

Amongst the participants included where ZPCS officials and members of the local community from areas such as Beitbridge and Esigodini.
To facilitate the selection process, the organisers formed two teams. These teams competed in friendly matches designed to assess the players’ skills and teamwork.

Fletcher Ncube, the team’s head coach, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and the quality of talent on display.
“I am truly impressed with the positive response from both officers and community members. It is encouraging to see players travelling from distant areas like Beitbridge and Esigodini just to demonstrate their skills. This shows their genuine passion for the game,” said Ncube.
The club is currently in the process of registering both the players and the team with ZIFA.
