The Zimbabwe Republic Police and their South African counterparts are convening a bilateral meeting in Harare to strengthen cooperation in combating cross-border crimes between the two nations.

The meeting is being attended by Police Commissioner-General Stephen Mutamba, SAPS National Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sehlahle Fannie Masemola, Deputy Commissioner-General Learn Ncube, and senior police officers from both countries.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police and the South African Police Service are currently holding a bilateral meeting at Mkushi Academy in Harare in order to enhance the fight against cross-border crimes between the two countries,” said ZRP national police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi.

Over the past few years, Zimbabwean and South African security authorities have been rolling out a joint operation along the two countries’ borders to address smuggling, illegal migration, and other crimes.
