ZRP Bulawayo wins Independence netball gig

IT was a colourful day at White City Stadium where Zina played host to the netball Independence tournament on 18 April.

The defending champions ZRP Bulawayo retained the championship for the fifth year in a row.

It was indeed a clash of the giants as the teams played to their full potential battling for first place in the Independence tournament and a very competitive game.

Eleven Stars struggled against the champions and managed to score 21 while the champions walked away with the trophy and gold medals with 38 points.

Portia Dube of ZRP scored 32 of the 38 points.

The rest were scored by Bridget Nyoni.

Eleven Stars had Tendai Mugari who scored 13 sharing the responsibility with Nolwazi Ncube.

They walked away with a trophy and silver medals.

Sizinda Queens won bronze.
